Secondary School Connections
At Holy Cross, we believe in fostering strong relationships with secondary schools to ensure our students have seamless transitions into their next educational journey. We are proud to be feeder schools for two esteemed institutions: Salesian College in Sunbury and Sacred Heart College in Kyneton.
As a feeder school for Salesian College in Sunbury, we prioritize preparing our students for the rigorous academic environment and vibrant community of Salesian College. Our collaborative efforts with Salesian College aim to provide a smooth transition for our graduates, enabling them to excel academically, socially, and personally.
Salesian College Rupertswood Harvest Festival:
Holy Cross Primary School has a collaborative relationship with Salesian College, particularly in the context of the Rupertswood Harvest. This event, organized by Salesian College in Sunbury, is an annual community festival featuring a variety of activities and fundraising opportunities. Holy Cross Primary, along with other local primary schools and community groups, participates by selling produce from their own vegetable patches and hosting informational stalls and workshops.
The Rupertswood Harvest is designed to be an engaging and affordable family event, showcasing agricultural demonstrations by Salesian College students, including sheep shearing and the sale of student-made products like toothpaste. The event emphasizes community involvement and provides a platform for local schools and organizations to raise funds and promote their activities.
Sacred Heart College, Kyneton:
We are also privileged to be a feeder school for Sacred Heart College in Kyneton. Sacred Heart is renowned for its commitment to academic excellence and holistic development. Our partnership with Sacred Heart ensures that our students receive the necessary support and guidance to thrive in their secondary education journey.
Sacred Heart College Junior Chef Competition:
To further enhance our connection with Sacred Heart, we organize an exciting annual event - the SHC Junior Chef Competition. This culinary extravaganza provides our students with a unique opportunity to showcase their culinary skills and creativity. Winners of the competition earn the chance to visit Sacred Heart and participate in a special cooking session under the guidance of professional chefs.
Through initiatives like the SHC Junior Chef Competition and our ongoing collaboration with Salesian and Sacred Heart, we aim to empower our students with the skills, knowledge, and experiences they need to succeed in secondary school and beyond.
